A Brief Run Down of What I've Been Up To...
I've been back in Carmarthen for only two weeks now, although it feels like much longer! (Not in a bad way, but it just does. I think time moves slower in Wales.) I had a wonderful two and a half week visit to California where I got see many of you and remind my nieces of what their favourite Auntie looks like. Of course they remembered me! Well, Emmalani did and Koloe did after I gave her a present.
I was so blessed to have company on the plane this time around! My wonderful friend and photographer extrodinaire Jen May returned with me. It made saying good-bye to my parents at the airport much easier. My mom and I didn't cause a scene this time although she kept waving and my dad was taking pictures with his camera phone.
I can now say that I've been to Canada. However it was only for an hour and a half. We switched planes in Calgary before making the long trip over the sea. The trip went much faster having someone to talk to. When we arrived in London, we went our seperate ways so Jen May could explore the fabulous city. I had to spend another seven hours on the road and at bus stops to get to Carmarthen. So needless to say when Sofia picked me up that night, I was exhausted! I fell asleep fairly early, but then couldn't sleep at all the next night. It took me a few days to get over my jet lag.
I was very curious to meet the new
internationals. It's a much smaller group this semester, but I think we will still have a lot of fun. There are three from Germany, two from Austria, and four from the States as well as the few of us that stuck around from last semester. When Jen May arrived on Thursday she had many ready and willing models who are all eager to appear on her website. I showed Jen May the nice sites around Carmarthen, including LLansteffan Castle which isn't too far. I won't even mentioned the hitchhiking we did to get to the "Most Beautiful Beach in Wales." Let's just say that a lot of the time I was just as new as Jen May to the area! I was really sad to see her go, because it felt a little like home having her with me.
I made a few of the Internationals soft tacos the other night. I had to explain that this was real Mexican food and they weren't allowed to put ketchup or cucumbers on it. They all really liked
It's getting really late here, so I should sign off, but before I do, I apologize for neglecting this blog as I have done many times before! I promise to be more faithful in updating it when thrilling events occur. ;)
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
