There's No Stopping Me Now!!
Thanks to all of you who have visited this site since its inception 15 hours ago. Sounds like a few of you think it's a good idea and plan to read it. Thanks!
I just got the news that I have been approved for my Visa! So now it's completely and totally official! I didn't really doubt that I would get the visa, but at the same time I was a little nervous, because what the heck would I do if I wasn't approved? I shudder to even think.
Filling out the visa application was a little interesting. I was asked if I had been involved or concerned with any terriost plots or attacks. I've never been asked that before. I wonder if anyone ever answers that question with a yes. And if someone did answer with a yes, would they be approved?
I was also asked for my qualifications showing that I can speak English. Never been asked that before either. I don't have any official qualifications, but shouldn't it be evidence enough the fact that I am filling out the application- in English?
Well, they seemed to like my answers because I'm going to be allowed in the country! I wonder if I'll still get the third degree like I did when I went through customs the last time. I was asked a million questions, like who was picking me up (Paul), what did Paul do (work in television), and where was I going (England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales), and why was I going (vacation)? The lady questioning me didn't seem to be the most friendly person in the world so I think if she sounded a little more chipper my heart wouldn't have pounded quite so much. We'll see what happens this time.
They also want to make sure I plan on leaving the country at the end of my course. So I left out the part about finding my Colin Firth. The British government probably isn't really concerned with that sort of thing anyway...
