First Post of Many

Well, well, well. I've finally done it. I've created a blog. I've created it a bit prematurely because I plan to use it to communicate to my family, friends and anyone else who happens upon it while I'm studying in Wales for the next year. If I haven't told you yet I'm leaving for Wales this September. I'm having a hard time keeping track of who I've shared the news with. For those of you who don't know, Wales is a small country in the UK. It is NOT England. It is connected to England, but it is most definitely not England. Ask any Welsh person, they'll tell you. Before or after they give you a black eye.
As I sit here writing this there is a dying fly that is strangely attracted to my computer. I know my new laptop is fabulous but I don't want slimy fly goo on my computer. It keeps coming back. I blow it off and it hangs on for dear life and eventually falls off. I think I am rid of it and then it comes back. It's a pretty big fly too with red beady eyes. Just thinking about it is making me itch.
Anyways, back to my blog. I've entitled it Meg Haggerty's Diary. If you know me, you know why, and hopefully you think it is an appropriate title. I'm about to be as close as I probably ever will be to living out my Bridget Jones fantasy. I'm hoping while I'm in Wales working hard for my Masters Degree in Creative Writing that I will also meet a top notch barrister that bears a striking resemblance to Mark Darcy aka Colin Firth. Actually I don't care what he does as long as he looks like Colin Firth (or Jude Law or Orlando Bloom, I'm not particular).I'm leaving in less than two months. I can't believe it. I don't think it will seem real until I--(AAAHHH!! The fly came back! Landed right at my fingertips! Eww!)-- physically step foot off the plane. And I'm going for a whole year too! I'm living out a life long dream! I can't wait but it will also be hard to be away from all my wonderful family and friends, very hard.
My wonderful family and friends are the reasons I made this blog. I want to keep you posted on my whereabouts and adventures and I figured one central place would be ideal. I hope you all actually read this or at least some of you. I know you all have important things to do besides read what's going on in my life as fantastic as it might be. I'll try to keep this updated as often as possible and in between dates with Colin.
It's getting late and I have to be at work tomorrow. Woo-hoo! It's Friday! And I wouldn't exactly call what I do work, but anyways I have to be there bright and early.
